Finisher Specialist


A Finisher Specialist is a skilled professional responsible for the final touches and details of a finished product. They work with a variety of materials and tools to ensure that the product meets high quality standards and is visually appealing. The role requires precision, attention to detail, and a strong understanding of different finishing techniques.

Responsibilities:
- Use various tools and techniques to smooth, polish, and perfect the surface of the product
- Apply stains, varnishes, or other finishes to enhance the appearance of the product
- Inspect finished products for any defects or imperfections and make necessary corrections
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure consistency in finishing processes
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace
- Follow safety protocols at all times while handling equipment and materials
- Keep track of inventory and order supplies when needed

Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent education
- Proven work experience as a finisher or in a related field
- Knowledge of different types of wood, finishes, stains, and sealants
- Familiarity with various hand and power tools used in finishing processes
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain high quality standards
- Physical stamina to stand for long periods of time and lift heavy objects if needed
- Good communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment

Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with different types of finishes such as lacquer, shellac, or paint
- Knowledge of different wood species and their properties
Location:
This position is located in Svalbard, an archipelago situated between Norway and the North Pole. This unique location offers stunning natural landscapes such as glaciers, mountains, and polar bears. While there are no permanent residents on Svalbard besides research teams, this position offers the opportunity for candidates from all nationalities to experience living in this remote but beautiful location.

Salary and Benefits:
The salary for this position is $1400 per month, with the possibility for bonuses based on performance. Accommodation will be provided for the employee, as well as visa sponsorship if needed.
