Head Pastry Chef
We are seeking a talented and experienced Head Pastry Chef to join our team in Bergen, Norway. As the Head Pastry Chef, you will be responsible for creating and overseeing all pastry and dessert items for our restaurant. This includes developing new menu items, managing inventory and ordering supplies, and ensuring that all pastries are prepared to the highest quality standards.
Responsibilities:
- Create and oversee all pastry and dessert items for the restaurant
- Develop new menu items that align with our brand and appeal to our customers
- Manage inventory and order supplies as needed
- Train and supervise pastry staff to ensure consistency in quality and presentation
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and organization in the pastry kitchen
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations at all times
- Work closely with the executive chef to plan menus and coordinate special events
- Continuously seek ways to improve recipes, techniques, and processes
Requirements:
- At least 5 years of experience as a pastry chef in a high-volume restaurant or hotel setting
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to train, motivate, and manage a team effectively
- Strong understanding of various pastry techniques, ingredients, and flavor combinations
- Creative mindset with a passion for developing new menu items that meet customer preferences
- Proven track record of maintaining high quality standards while managing costs effectively
- Knowledge of food safety regulations
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication skills
