Biometric Research Scientist


We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Biometric Research Scientist to join our dynamic team in Funchal. As a computer research scientist, you will be responsible for conducting research and developing innovative solutions in the field of biometrics. Your primary focus will be on developing biometric algorithms and systems for secure identification and authentication.

Responsibilities:
- Conduct research on biometric technologies and stay updated with the latest advancements in the field
- Develop and implement biometric algorithms for various applications such as facial recognition, fingerprint identification, and voice recognition
- Design and develop biometric systems that are accurate, reliable, and secure
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate biometric solutions into existing systems
- Analyze data sets to evaluate the performance of biometric systems and make necessary improvements
- Write technical reports, research papers, and patents to document findings and innovations

Requirements:
- Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related field
- Minimum of 2 years experience in biometrics research or development
- Strong knowledge of biometric techniques, algorithms, and systems
- Proficiency in programming languages such as C++, Java, or Python
- Experience with software development tools like MATLAB
- Familiarity with biometric standards such as ISO/IEC 19794 and NIST Special Publication 500-290
- Excellent analytical skills and ability to work independently
- Biometric passport is preferred
