Pastry Chef Assistant
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Pastry Chef Assistant to join our team in the bustling city of Os, Norway. Our ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience in a professional kitchen setting, with a focus on pastry and dessert preparation. As an assistant to our head pastry chef, you will be responsible for assisting in the creation and execution of various dessert items for our restaurant menu.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the head pastry chef in planning and executing daily dessert offerings
- Prepare and present desserts according to recipes and plating standards
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the pastry section of the kitchen
- Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies when needed
- Adhere to all food safety and sanitation guidelines
- Help train new members of the pastry team
Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years experience in a professional kitchen, with a focus on pastry
- Knowledge of various baking techniques, including breads, cakes, pastries, and desserts
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow recipes accurately
- Excellent time management skills
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as needed during shift
Preferred:
- Culinary degree or certification from an accredited program
- Knowledge of Norwegian cuisine
- Experience working in a high-end restaurant or hotel setting
Salary: $1400/month (negotiable based on experience)
Location: Os, Norway (housing may be provided if needed)
