Senior Database Administrator


We are currently seeking a highly experienced Senior Database Administrator to join our rapidly growing team in Alta, Norway. As a Senior DBA, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining our company's databases, ensuring their security, availability, and efficient performance.

Your responsibilities will include:
- Designing, implementing and maintaining database systems to meet business needs
- Troubleshooting and resolving database issues in a timely manner
- Performing regular backups and disaster recovery procedures
- Ensuring data security and integrity through proper access controls and monitoring
- Optimizing database performance by fine-tuning queries, indexes and memory usage
- Collaborating with development teams to design and implement new database solutions
- Providing technical support to end-users as needed

To excel in this role, you should have:
- At least 5 years of experience as a Database Administrator or similar role
- Strong knowledge of relational database management systems such as Oracle, SQL Server or MySQL
- Solid understanding of database design principles and data manipulation languages (SQL)
- Experience with database performance tuning and optimization techniques
- Familiarity with backup and disaster recovery procedures
- Ability to troubleshoot complex database issues efficiently
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams
