Database Administrator for a Medical Research Institution in Alta, Norway

As a Database Administrator, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining our organization's databases to ensure optimal performance and data integrity.

Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop and implement database systems according to business needs
- Monitor database performance and troubleshoot any issues that arise
- Conduct regular backups and perform necessary maintenance tasks
- Collaborate with other IT teams to integrate databases with applications and systems
- Develop data models and database architecture to support business requirements
- Ensure data security and compliance with privacy regulations
- Provide technical support and training to end-users on how to use the databases effectively

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field
- Minimum of 3 years' experience as a Database Administrator or similar role
- Strong knowledge of database management systems such as MySQL, SQL Server, Oracle, etc.
- Experience with data backup, recovery, security protocols and tools
- Familiarity with programming languages like SQL, Java or C++
- Proven ability to troubleshoot complex database issues
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
