Librarian for a Public Library in Plovdiv, Canada



We are seeking a highly organized and customer service-oriented Librarian to join our team at a public library in Plovdiv, Canada. As a Librarian, you will be responsible for providing quality library services to the community, promoting literacy and knowledge, and maintaining the library's collection.

Responsibilities:
- Assist patrons with locating and accessing library materials
- Provide reference and research assistance to patrons
- Plan and implement educational and cultural programs for all ages
- Maintain the library's collection by selecting, cataloging, and weeding materials
- Manage circulation activities including checking materials in/out, issuing library cards, and collecting fines
- Create displays and promote library resources through social media and other marketing channels
- Collaborate with other departments within the library to ensure efficient operations
- Train and supervise volunteers and support staff
- Stay updated on current trends in librarianship and technology

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field (Master's degree preferred)
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working in a public library setting
- Strong customer service skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Proficient computer skills
- Knowledge of online databases, cataloging systems, and social media platforms
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends

Salary: $1100 USD per month

City: Plovdiv, Canada

Note: This job is open to both Canadian citizens/residents as well as Nepali citizens who have valid work permits for Canada. Accommodation is not provided. Visa sponsorship may be available for qualified candidates.
