Preservation Architect
The Preservation Architect will be responsible for preserving and restoring historical buildings and structures in the United States. This role requires a deep understanding of architectural history, preservation techniques, and project management skills. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in architecture, with a focus on preservation and restoration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough research on the history and significance of historical properties
- Develop preservation plans and strategies for historical buildings and structures
- Collaborate with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure proper execution of preservation projects
- Conduct site visits to assess the condition of historical properties
- Prepare detailed architectural drawings and specifications for restoration work
- Oversee construction work to ensure compliance with preservation guidelines and standards
- Monitor project budgets and timelines to ensure successful completion within budget constraints
Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture or related field
- Minimum of 5 years experience in historic preservation architecture
- Strong knowledge of historical architecture styles, materials, and techniques
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit or other architectural software
- Excellent project management skills
- Attention to detail and ability to multitask
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members, clients, and contractors
This is a contract position with a salary of $1500 per week. Accommodation will also be provided for candidates who are not local to the United States.
