Preservation Architect
The Preservation Architect will be responsible for preserving historical buildings and structures, ensuring their structural integrity and maintaining their cultural significance. This role requires a high level of attention to detail, strong knowledge of architectural history and materials, and the ability to work independently. The ideal candidate will have a degree in architecture or a related field, as well as experience in preservation projects. This is a full-time position based in the United States and is suitable for both men and women with biometric passports.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough assessments of historical buildings and structures to determine their condition and preservation needs
- Develop preservation plans that adhere to local regulations and guidelines, while also maintaining the cultural significance of the building
- Collaborate with other architects, engineers, and construction professionals to implement preservation plans
- Oversee construction work on historical buildings to ensure proper techniques are being used
- Monitor budget for preservation projects and provide regular updates to stakeholders
- Conduct research on architectural history, materials, and techniques as they relate to preservation projects
- Communicate effectively with clients, stakeholders, and other professionals involved in preservation projects
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in architecture or a related field; Master's degree preferred
- Proven experience in preservation projects; preferably with historical buildings or structures
- Strong knowledge of architectural history, materials, and techniques
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills
- Strong communication skills
- Biometric passport
