Crane Operator

We are in need of a skilled Crane Operator to join our team in Svalbard. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience operating cranes and a valid visa to work in Svalbard. This position is open to both local and international candidates, and we welcome applications from students as well.

As a Crane Operator, you will be responsible for operating various types of cranes to move materials, machinery, and equipment on construction sites or in industrial settings. You must have a thorough understanding of crane operations and safety protocols to ensure the safe and efficient movement of heavy loads.

Key responsibilities include:

- Operating cranes according to job specifications and safety regulations
- Inspecting equipment before use and reporting any issues or malfunctions
- Rigging loads securely for safe lifting
- Monitoring weather conditions and making adjustments to crane operations as needed
- Communicating with ground crew using hand signals or radios
- Maintaining accurate records of materials moved and time spent on tasks
- Adhering to all company policies, procedures, and safety standards

Requirements:

- Minimum 2 years of experience as a crane operator
- Valid visa to work in Svalbard (if not a resident)
- High school diploma or equivalent education
- Knowledge of crane operations, rigging techniques, and safety protocols
- Ability to read construction plans and follow instructions accurately
- Strong communication skills and ability to work well with others in a team environment
- Physical strength and dexterity necessary for operating heavy machinery
