Crane Operator

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Crane Operator to join our team in Svalbard. In this role, you will be responsible for operating cranes to lift, move, and position heavy materials and equipment. You will also be responsible for inspecting cranes and ensuring they are in safe working condition. The ideal candidate will have previous experience operating cranes and hold a valid crane operator's license. This is a full-time role with a salary of $1400 per month plus accommodation in Svalbard. Preference will be given to candidates who already have their own visa for working in Svalbard or are willing to obtain one. Students with relevant experience are also encouraged to apply.

As a Crane Operator, your duties will include but are not limited to:

- Operating cranes using controls and levers to lift and move heavy materials and equipment
- Following safety procedures and guidelines while operating the crane
- Inspecting cranes before use to ensure they are in proper working condition
- Maintaining a clean and organized work area around the crane
- Communicating with other team members on the ground to coordinate movements of materials and equipment
- Keeping records of daily operations including completed tasks, maintenance activities, and any incidents or accidents that occur
- Reporting any issues or malfunctions with the crane to supervisors immediately

Requirements:

- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid crane operator's license
- Minimum of 2 years' experience operating cranes in a construction or industrial setting
- Knowledge of safety procedures related to crane operation
- Ability to read and understand load charts, blueprints, and other technical documents related to crane operation
- Physically fit with the ability to lift heavy objects and work at heights if required
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately
