Entry-Level Database Administrator in Svalbard


We are currently hiring an Entry-Level Database Administrator to join our team in Svalbard. As a Database Administrator, you will be responsible for maintaining and managing our company's databases, ensuring their security, efficiency, and availability.

Responsibilities:
- Install and configure database software
- Create and maintain databases according to company needs
- Monitor database performance and troubleshoot issues as they arise
- Implement security measures to protect the integrity of the data
- Develop and implement backup and recovery plans
- Collaborate with other teams to ensure smooth integration of databases with other systems
- Conduct regular database maintenance activities such as data purging, archiving, and space management

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
- Knowledge of database management systems such as MySQL, Oracle or SQL Server
- Familiarity with database design principles and data modeling techniques
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively

Preferred qualifications:
- Previous experience working with databases is a plus but not required
- Certification in database administration is a plus
- Experience working with cloud-based databases is a plus

Salary:
This position offers a competitive salary of $1100 per month.
