Sous Chef
As a Sous Chef in our high-end restaurant located in the picturesque city of Bergen, you will be responsible for assisting the Head Chef in all aspects of kitchen management. Your creativity and passion for cooking will contribute to creating exceptional dishes that will delight our guests.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Head Chef with menu planning, recipe development and food presentation
- Oversee daily operations of the kitchen, ensuring high levels of quality and hygiene
- Train and supervise junior kitchen staff, including line cooks and apprentices
- Manage food inventory, ordering and cost control to ensure profitability
- Collaborate with suppliers to source fresh, high-quality ingredients
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations while maintaining a clean and organized kitchen
Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years experience as a Sous Chef in a fine dining restaurant
- Strong culinary skills with a focus on European cuisine
- Excellent organizational and leadership abilities
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Strong knowledge of food safety standards
- Culinary degree or equivalent certification preferred
