Librarian Assistant

We are hiring a Librarian Assistant to join our team in Lisbon. As a Librarian Assistant, you will be responsible for assisting the librarian in managing the library's collection of books, journals, and other resources. You will also help patrons locate materials, answer reference questions, and provide support for library programs and events. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about books and enjoys working with people.

Responsibilities:
- Assist the librarian in cataloging and organizing library materials
- Help patrons find books and other resources
- Provide reference services by answering questions and assisting with research
- Assist with planning and implementing library programs and events
- Maintain the library's appearance by shelving books, cleaning, and organizing shelves
- Process incoming materials such as new books or donations
- Keep track of borrowed materials and send overdue notices when necessary

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field preferred
- Previous experience working in a library or customer service role preferred
- Knowledge of library systems and procedures
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team

Salary:
The salary for this position is 1300$ per month.

Location:
This position is based in Lisbon. However, we welcome candidates of any nationality who have the legal right to work in Portugal.
