Librarian for Indian Community in Ajman



We are seeking a qualified and experienced Librarian to join our Indian community library in Ajman. As a Librarian, you will be responsible for managing the library's collection, providing reference and research services, and promoting literacy and lifelong learning among our members.

Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the library's collection of books, magazines, and other materials
- Organize and catalog new materials using the Dewey Decimal System
- Maintain accurate records of the library's inventory
- Provide reference and research assistance to library members
- Develop and implement programs to promote literacy and lifelong learning among our members
- Collaborate with community organizations to organize events and activities related to reading and learning
- Train and supervise library assistants and volunteers
- Keep up-to-date with current trends in libraries, technology, and literature

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Library Science or a related field
- Minimum of 2 years experience working as a Librarian in a community or academic setting
- Proficiency in English (knowledge of Hindi or other Indian languages is a plus)
- Strong knowledge of library systems, classification methods, and reference resources
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Good communication skills with the ability to interact with people from diverse backgrounds

Salary:
This is a contract job with a monthly salary of 1500$. Accommodation will be provided by the community for the duration of the contract.
