Head Chef



We are a renowned restaurant in Nakuru, known for our delectable Indian cuisine, seeking an experienced and creative Head Chef to join our team. As the Head Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our kitchen operations, from menu planning and food preparation to managing the kitchen staff and ensuring high-quality dishes are consistently served to our guests.

Key Responsibilities:

- Create new and innovative Indian dishes while maintaining the authenticity of traditional recipes
- Plan and develop menus based on seasonal ingredients and customer preferences
- Oversee food preparation, cooking, and presentation to ensure consistency and quality
- Train and manage kitchen staff, including cooks, prep cooks, and dishwashers
- Monitor inventory levels of food and kitchen supplies and place orders as needed
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen at all times
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and standards
- Collaborate with restaurant management to develop promotions or special menus
- Manage food costs by accurately tracking expenses and implementing cost-saving measures

Requirements:

- Proven experience as a Head Chef or similar role in an Indian restaurant setting
- In-depth knowledge of Indian cuisine, spices, cooking techniques, and cultural traditions
- Ability to lead a team effectively with excellent communication skills
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Creativity in developing new dishes while also adhering to traditional recipes
- Knowledge of food safety regulations
- Degree or certification from a culinary school is preferred
- Must be fluent in English

Salary: 1500$ per month

Location: Nakuru (preference for Indian nationals)
