Executive Chef
We are in search of an experienced and innovative Executive Chef to lead our culinary team in the city of Alta, Norway. As an Executive Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our kitchen operations, including menu creation, food preparation, and kitchen management. Your creativity and culinary expertise will drive the success of our restaurant and ensure that our guests have a memorable dining experience.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and design menus that reflect the latest food trends while also meeting the dietary needs and preferences of our guests
- Oversee food preparation, ensuring high quality standards are met at all times
- Manage inventory and control food costs to maximize profitability
- Train and supervise kitchen staff to maintain a high level of performance and efficiency
- Maintain a safe and sanitary kitchen environment by adhering to all health codes and regulations
- Collaborate with restaurant management to plan special events or promotions
- Stay updated on industry trends, new ingredients, and techniques to continuously improve menu offerings
Requirements:
- Proven experience as an Executive Chef or similar role in a fine dining restaurant
- In-depth knowledge of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures
- Ability to create unique dishes while also adhering to budget constraints
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team
- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with both kitchen staff and management
- High level of creativity and passion for culinary arts
Education/Qualifications:
- Degree from a recognized culinary institute or equivalent work experience
- Certification in Food Safety/Sanitation
- Fluent in English (Norwegian is a plus)
Salary: 1400$ per month (negotiable based on experience)
Location: Alta, Norway (candidates with EU citizenship or valid work permit preferred)
