Librarian

A reputable library in Sharjah is seeking a qualified and experienced Librarian to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the daily operations of the library, maintaining and organizing the library's collection, and providing excellent customer service to library patrons. This position requires strong organizational and communication skills, as well as a passion for literature and research.

Responsibilities:
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the library, including opening/closing procedures
- Maintain an up-to-date inventory of all library materials
- Organize and classify books, magazines, newspapers, and other materials according to standard library practices
- Assist patrons with locating materials and provide reference services as needed
- Develop and implement programs and activities to promote literacy within the community
- Ensure that all materials are properly checked out and returned in a timely manner
- Monitor budget expenditures for purchasing new materials
- Train and supervise library assistants or volunteers

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field
- Minimum of 2 years' experience working in a library setting
- Excellent communication skills in English (Arabic proficiency is a plus)
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Knowledge of standard library practices, cataloging, classification systems, etc.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Proficiency in computer skills including Microsoft Office and online databases

Salary:
The salary for this position is $1400 per month.

Location:
This job is located in Sharjah. Preference will be given to Indian candidates.
