Preservation Architect - Braga, Portugal


We are in search of a Preservation Architect to join our team in Braga, Portugal. Our ideal candidate will have a strong background in historic preservation and a passion for preserving cultural heritage. The Preservation Architect will be responsible for assessing, planning, and implementing preservation projects for historic buildings and landmarks.

Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough assessments of historic properties and provide recommendations for preservation and restoration.
- Develop detailed preservation plans and oversee their implementation.
- Collaborate with project teams to ensure that all work is done in accordance with preservation guidelines and standards.
- Research materials, techniques, and technologies to determine the most appropriate methods for restoring and preserving historic structures.
- Manage project budgets, timelines, and resources effectively.
- Liaise with clients, contractors, local authorities, and other stakeholders to ensure that all necessary permits are obtained and requirements are met.
- Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress and ensure compliance with preservation plans.
- Prepare reports detailing project progress, challenges, and solutions.

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture or related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in historic preservation or conservation architecture.
- Strong knowledge of historic preservation principles, materials, techniques, and technologies.
- Familiarity with local regulations and guidelines related to historic preservation in Braga or Portugal preferred.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) in English. Knowledge of Portuguese is a plus.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.

We offer a competitive salary of 900$ per month without accommodation. We also provide free visa sponsorship and airfare for international candidates.
