Executive Chef - Nakuru, Kenya
A luxury hotel in Nakuru, Kenya is seeking an experienced and talented Executive Chef to join our dynamic team. As the Executive Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the kitchen and food production, ensuring high quality culinary offerings for our guests.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and direct food preparation and culinary activities
- Create menus and develop new dishes in line with current trends and seasonal availability
- Train and manage kitchen staff, including cooks, sous chefs, and other assistants
- Ensure all food safety standards are met and maintained
- Control food costs by monitoring portion control, waste management, and inventory management
- Collaborate with restaurant managers to create a seamless dining experience for guests
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and organization in the kitchen at all times
- Manage ordering and inventory of kitchen supplies
- Develop relationships with local suppliers to source fresh ingredients
- Stay updated on industry trends and new techniques to continuously enhance menu offerings
Requirements:
- Proven experience as an Executive Chef or other senior-level culinary role
- Degree or certification in Culinary Arts or related field
- Extensive knowledge of food safety regulations
- Ability to create innovative dishes while maintaining high quality standards
- Experience managing a team of kitchen staff
- Strong leadership skills with excellent communication abilities
- Ability to handle stressful situations with composure
- Biometric passport for travel purposes
Salary: $1400 per month + accommodation provided
