Executive Chef - Seasonal Position in Nakuru
We are in search of a talented and experienced Executive Chef to join our team for a seasonal position in Nakuru. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled chef to showcase their culinary skills and creativity in preparing high-quality dishes for our guests.
Responsibilities:
- Create menus that reflect the local culture and utilize fresh, seasonal ingredients
- Oversee all aspects of the kitchen operations including food preparation, cooking, and presentation
- Train and supervise kitchen staff to ensure high standards of food quality and hygiene are maintained
- Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as needed to maintain efficient operations
- Collaborate with management to develop new menu items and special dishes for events or occasions
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment at all times
Requirements:
- Proven experience as an Executive Chef or similar role in a high-volume establishment
- Excellent knowledge of different cuisines, cooking techniques, and food safety regulations
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and train kitchen staff effectively
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Valid work permit or own visa for Kenya
Education/Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Culinary degree preferred
- Minimum of 5 years experience as a chef in a reputable restaurant or hotel
