Executive Chef
We are in search of an experienced and skilled Executive Chef to join our team in Faro, Portugal. As the head of our kitchen, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of food preparation and service, ensuring that our customers receive top-quality meals that meet their expectations.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and create new menu items that appeal to our diverse customer base
- Train and manage kitchen staff, including sous chefs, line cooks, and dishwashers
- Ensure efficient and effective food preparation and plating techniques are followed
- Control inventory levels and food costs to meet budgetary guidelines
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen
- Implement proper food safety procedures to prevent foodborne illnesses
- Collaborate with other departments, such as front-of-house staff, to ensure smooth operation of the restaurant
Requirements:
- Proven experience as an Executive Chef or similar role
- In-depth knowledge of culinary techniques and principles
- Ability to manage a team in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to delegate tasks effectively
- Strong leadership skills with a positive attitude towards coaching and development
- Proficient in budgeting and cost control measures
- Creativity in menu planning with a focus on using fresh, local ingredients
- Knowledge of Portuguese cuisine would be an asset
Salary: 1700$ per month (negotiable based on experience)
