Librarian for Nepali Community in Los Angeles



We are hiring a qualified Librarian to join our team and provide essential library services to the Nepali community in Los Angeles. As a Librarian, you will be responsible for managing the library collection, organizing and cataloging materials, assisting patrons with research needs, and promoting literacy within the community.

Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the library collection, including selecting, ordering, and processing materials
- Organize and catalog books, periodicals, media, and other materials using industry standards
- Assist patrons with research needs and provide guidance on library resources
- Develop and implement programs to promote literacy within the Nepali community
- Collaborate with other librarians to plan events and activities for all age groups
- Maintain accurate records of library usage and prepare reports as needed
- Stay updated on emerging trends in library science and implement new technologies as needed

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Library Science or a related field (Master's degree preferred)
- Fluent in Nepali language (written and spoken)
- Knowledge of library systems and cataloging standards
- Excellent communication skills to interact with a diverse group of patrons
- Strong organizational skills with an attention to detail
- Experience working in a multicultural environment is preferred

Salary:
Starting salary for this position is $1800 per month. Salary may be negotiable based on qualifications and experience.

Benefits:
This is a full-time position that includes accommodation provided by the organization. Visa sponsorship may also be available for international candidates.

Location:
This position is located in Los Angeles, California. Candidates must be willing to relocate or already reside in the area.
