Part-Time Preservation Architect

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Preservation Architect to join our team on a part-time basis in the beautiful city of Alta, Norway. As our ideal candidate, you will have a passion for preserving historical and cultural landmarks while also ensuring they remain functional and safe for future generations. You will work closely with clients, contractors, and other architects to develop and implement preservation plans that adhere to local regulations and guidelines.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture with a focus on historic preservation
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Preservation Architect
- Strong knowledge of local building codes and preservation guidelines
- Experience working with various stakeholders including clients, contractors, and government officials
- Excellent communication and project management skills
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment
Responsibilities:
- Conduct site assessments to determine preservation needs and create detailed reports outlining proposed plans and recommendations.
- Develop preservation plans that adhere to local regulations while also meeting the needs of clients.
- Collaborate with contractors, engineers, and other professionals to ensure the successful execution of preservation projects.
- Oversee construction progress to ensure plans are being followed accurately.
- Communicate with clients regularly to provide updates on project progress.
- Stay up-to-date on current preservation techniques, materials, and technology.
We offer competitive salary starting at 1600$ per month for this part-time position. This role does not include accommodation but does provide a free visa and ticket for international candidates.
