Carpenter for Construction Company in Malindi, Kenya


A reputable construction company in Malindi, Kenya is seeking a skilled Carpenter to join our team. As the Carpenter, you will be responsible for constructing, installing, and repairing structures and fixtures made of wood, plywood, and wallboard. The ideal candidate will have experience with carpentry techniques and tools, as well as a strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret blueprints and drawings to determine materials needed
- Measure and mark cutting lines on materials using ruler, pencil, chalk, or marking gauge
- Cut or shape materials to specified measurements using hand tools or power tools
- Assemble cut and shaped materials according to plans
- Install structures such as windows, frames, floorings, trimmings, and hardware
- Inspect structures to ensure quality and adherence to specifications
- Repair or replace damaged wood parts of existing structures
- Maintain a clean work area and comply with safety policies

Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Carpenter or similar role in the construction industry
- Proficient in using hand tools such as saws, chisels, hammers etc.
- Knowledge of power tools such as drills and sanders
- Ability to read blueprints and drawings accurately
- Excellent mathematical skills for measuring and calculating dimensions
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions precisely
- Physical stamina for lifting heavy materials and standing for long periods of time

Salary: 1400$ per month (negotiable based on experience)

Location: Malindi, Kenya (accommodation not provided)
