Job Title: Back-End Developer

As a Back-End Developer, you will be responsible for creating and maintaining the server-side of web applications and databases. Your main focus will be on developing and implementing efficient, secure, and scalable code to support the front-end of our websites. This role requires a strong knowledge of programming languages such as Java, Python, or Ruby, as well as experience with database management systems like MySQL or MongoDB. You will also collaborate with front-end developers to integrate user-facing elements into applications. Additionally, you will be responsible for testing and debugging code to ensure functionality and security. This position is based in Svalbard and includes accommodation, a free visa, and ticket for all nationalities.

Responsibilities:
- Design and develop efficient, secure, and scalable server-side code
- Collaborate with front-end developers to integrate user-facing elements into applications
- Create and maintain databases for web applications
- Test and debug code to ensure functionality and security
- Optimize application performance for maximum speed and scalability
- Stay updated on emerging technologies in the field of back-end development

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Strong knowledge of programming languages such as Java, Python, or Ruby
- Experience with database management systems like MySQL or MongoDB
- Familiarity with front-end languages (HTML/CSS/JavaScript)
- Experience with server-side frameworks (e.g. Node.js)
- Understanding of security principles and how they apply to back-end development
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Strong attention to detail
