Job Title: Contract Accountant - Funchal, Portugal


We are in need of a skilled Contract Accountant to join our team in Funchal, Portugal. As an experienced and detail-oriented accountant, you will be responsible for managing our financial transactions, producing accurate financial reports, and ensuring compliance with all tax regulations. This is a contract position without accommodation, suitable for candidates with their own visa and from any nationality.

Responsibilities:
- Manage all accounting operations including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger entries, and payroll
- Prepare and analyze financial statements on a monthly basis
- Ensure timely and accurate completion of all tax filings and payments
- Collaborate with internal teams to develop budgets and forecast future financials
- Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions
- Identify areas for cost-saving measures and implement necessary changes
- Keep up-to-date with relevant accounting regulations and procedures

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
- Minimum of 3 years experience as an accountant or in a similar role
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and procedures
- Proficiency in MS Office and accounting software (Quickbooks preferred)
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Attention to detail and accuracy
