Plasterer - Contract Position (Svalbard)


As a Plasterer, you will be responsible for applying and finishing plaster on various surfaces to create smooth and durable finishes. Your work will require precision and attention to detail, as well as the ability to read and interpret blueprints and other construction plans. This is a contract position in Svalbard, offering a salary of 1700$ per month with accommodation provided.

Responsibilities:
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, and applying sealant
- Mix plaster according to specifications
- Apply coats of plaster onto surfaces using trowels or spray guns
- Smooth and level plaster using hand tools or power tools
- Create decorative textures or designs using special tools or techniques
- Repair cracks or imperfections in existing plasterwork
- Follow safety procedures to ensure a safe work environment

Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Plasterer or similar role
- Strong knowledge of different types of plaster and their applications
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans
- Attention to detail and precision in work
- Good physical stamina and dexterity for working with hand tools and power tools
- Familiarity with safety procedures in a construction setting
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team on larger projects

Education:
A high school diploma or equivalent is required for this role. Additional training or certification in plastering techniques is preferred.

Location:
This position is based in Svalbard, an archipelago situated between mainland Norway and the North Pole. While not required, preference will be given to candidates who are already located in this region.

Working Conditions:
This is a contract position with an expected duration of 6 months. The work schedule will be full-time, Monday to Friday with occasional overtime on weekends if needed. Accommodation will be provided for the duration of the contract.
