Sous Chef - Modern Egyptian Cuisine
We are in search of a talented and creative Sous Chef with a passion for modern Egyptian cuisine to join our team in Dubai. As the Sous Chef, you will work closely with our Head Chef to lead and manage the kitchen team while creating and executing innovative dishes that showcase the flavors and techniques of Egyptian cuisine. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of experience in a similar role, strong leadership skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced chef to further develop their skills and contribute to the success of our restaurant.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Head Chef to create seasonal menus that incorporate traditional Egyptian flavors with modern techniques
- Oversee daily operations of the kitchen, including food preparation, cooking, plating, and maintaining high food quality standards
- Train and develop kitchen staff on proper cooking techniques, sanitation practices, and safety procedures
- Manage inventory levels and ordering of supplies to ensure efficient operations
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations at all times
- Assist with menu costing and budget management
- Monitor food quality and presentation to maintain consistency across all dishes
Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a Sous Chef in a high-volume restaurant or hotel setting
- Strong knowledge of modern Egyptian cuisine and techniques
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and train kitchen staff effectively
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Proven track record of menu development and cost control
- Strong communication skills in English (Arabic is a plus)
- Must be willing to relocate to Dubai if not already based there
