Interpreter (English-Russian)


We are in need of a skilled and professional English-Russian Interpreter to join our team in Svalbard. As an interpreter, you will be responsible for facilitating communication between English and Russian speakers, both orally and in writing. Your main role will be to accurately convey messages, speeches, and conversations between the two languages.

Key Responsibilities:
- Interpret spoken words from English to Russian and vice versa
- Translate written documents from English to Russian and vice versa
- Ensure accuracy and cultural sensitivity in all interpretations
- Maintain confidentiality and integrity while handling sensitive information
- Facilitate effective communication by understanding the context of the conversation
- Provide support during meetings, conferences, or other events as needed

Requirements:
- Native or near-native proficiency in both English and Russian languages
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Previous experience as an interpreter is preferred but not required
- Excellent listening skills with the ability to quickly understand complex information
- Knowledge of cultural differences between English-speaking and Russian-speaking countries
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
