Turner Technician

As a Turner Technician, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining various machines used in the process of shaping metal parts. Your main duties will include setting up and operating lathes, milling machines, drill presses, and other equipment to cut, shape, and form metal parts according to specifications. You will also be required to inspect finished products for quality and make any necessary adjustments to ensure they meet the required standards.

To excel in this role, you should have a strong understanding of machining techniques and be able to read and interpret technical drawings. You must also possess good hand-eye coordination and physical strength as this job may involve lifting heavy materials. Attention to detail is crucial as even the slightest miscalculation can result in defective products.

Ideally, you should have a technical diploma or certification in machining or a related field. Previous experience working as a Turner Technician is preferred but not required. However, you must have a basic knowledge of tools used in machining such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.

This position requires someone who is highly organized and can work independently with minimal supervision. You must also be able to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines. Good communication skills are essential as you may need to collaborate with other team members to troubleshoot issues or suggest improvements.
