Typesetter

A typesetter is responsible for creating and formatting text and graphics for printing or digital publications. They use specialized software to layout and arrange text, images, and other visual elements in a visually appealing and readable manner. The ideal candidate should have experience with typesetting software, attention to detail, and the ability to work under tight deadlines.

Responsibilities:
- Read and understand design specifications and client requirements
- Choose appropriate fonts, sizes, and layouts for each project
- Input text into typesetting software and format it according to design specifications
- Insert images, tables, charts, or other graphics as needed
- Proofread final layouts to ensure accuracy and consistency in design
- Make necessary adjustments or corrections based on feedback from clients or editors
- Collaborate with designers, editors, and other team members to ensure timely completion of projects

Requirements:
- Proven experience as a typesetter or in a similar role
- Proficiency in typesetting software such as Adobe InDesign or QuarkXPress
- Familiarity with printing processes and techniques
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Ability to work under tight deadlines without compromising quality
- Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members

Location: This is a contract job based in Braga. Candidates must have their own valid visa for working in Portugal.

Salary: The salary for this position starts at 1300$ per month.
