Executive Chef
As an Executive Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our kitchen and ensuring the highest quality of food is being served to our customers. You will lead a team of kitchen staff, including cooks and sous chefs, and work closely with the restaurant manager to develop new menu items and maintain food costs.
You will be expected to have a strong culinary background and extensive experience in managing a high-volume kitchen. Your creativity and passion for cooking will play a key role in developing unique and delicious dishes that keep our customers coming back. You must also have excellent communication skills and the ability to work well under pressure.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee all aspects of food preparation and presentation
- Train, supervise, and schedule kitchen staff
- Develop new menu items and seasonal specials
- Maintain inventory levels and food costs
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation standards
- Collaborate with restaurant manager on budget planning and cost control measures
- Handle any customer concerns or complaints regarding food quality or service
- Monitor kitchen equipment maintenance and repair needs
Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years experience as an Executive Chef or similar role in a high-volume restaurant
- Culinary degree or equivalent experience
- Proficient knowledge of various cooking techniques, ingredients, and cuisines
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate a team
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Proven track record of maintaining high food quality standards while controlling costs
Salary: $1200/month
Location: Almada, Portugal
Preference:
- Previous experience working with Portuguese cuisine is preferred but not required.
