Head Chef



As a Head Chef at our upscale restaurant in Porto, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our culinary operations. Your passion for food and creativity will shine through in your daily tasks, from creating innovative menu items to training and managing kitchen staff. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced chef who can maintain high standards of quality and consistency while also pushing the boundaries with new flavors and techniques.

Responsibilities:
- Develop and update menus based on seasonal ingredients and customer feedback
- Ensure all dishes are prepared to the highest quality standards
- Train, supervise, and schedule kitchen staff to maintain a smooth operation
- Manage inventory levels, ordering supplies as needed while minimizing waste
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen area, adhering to health and safety regulations
- Collaborate with management to plan special events or promotions
- Keep up-to-date with industry trends and incorporate new ideas into menu planning

Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Head Chef or Executive Chef in a high-end restaurant
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and train kitchen staff
- In-depth knowledge of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures
- Creativity in developing unique dishes while also maintaining classic favorites
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment without compromising quality
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with staff, management, and customers
- Knowledge of food cost control measures and inventory management

Qualifications:
- Degree or certification in Culinary Arts or related field preferred
OR minimum 5 years of experience as a Head Chef
OR equivalent combination of education/training/experience

Salary: $900 per week (negotiable based on experience)
