Pastry Chef for High-end Hotel in Mombasa, Kenya
Our luxury hotel in Mombasa, Kenya is seeking an experienced and creative Pastry Chef to join our team. As our Pastry Chef, you will be responsible for creating and preparing a variety of delectable desserts and pastries that will delight our guests. You will work closely with our Executive Chef to design menus and ensure that all pastries are made to the highest quality standards. The ideal candidate will have a passion for pastry making, be detail-oriented, and have excellent time management skills.
Responsibilities:
- Create and prepare a variety of high-quality desserts and pastries
- Work closely with the Executive Chef to design menus
- Maintain inventory of pastry ingredients and supplies
- Ensure that all pastries are made to the highest quality standards
- Train and supervise pastry team members
- Monitor food costs and maintain budgetary guidelines
- Comply with health and safety regulations at all times
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Pastry Chef in a high-end hotel or restaurant
- Extensive knowledge of pastry techniques, ingredients, and equipment
- Creativity and ability to develop new dessert ideas
- Excellent time management skills
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to train and supervise team members
- Good understanding of food cost control methods
- Fluent in English (knowledge of other languages is a plus)
Salary:
We offer a competitive salary of 1100$ per month, depending on experience.
