Reference Librarian - El-Ain, Pakistan



As a Reference Librarian, you will be responsible for providing high-quality reference and research services to library patrons in El-Ain, Pakistan. You will assist users in finding and accessing information through various resources, including print and digital materials. You will also collaborate with other librarians to develop and maintain the library's reference collection and resources.

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide reference and research assistance to library users, including answering complex inquiries, conducting literature searches, and recommending relevant resources.
- Teach library users how to effectively use the library's catalog, databases, and other research tools.
- Develop and maintain the reference collection by selecting new materials, evaluating existing resources, and ensuring their accessibility.
- Collaborate with other librarians to plan and execute information literacy programs for library patrons.
- Stay up-to-date with trends in library services and technologies to improve reference services.
- Assist in creating user guides and tutorials for various research tools.
- Participate in professional development activities to enhance skills and knowledge.

Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Library Science or a related field.
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Reference Librarian or similar role.
- Excellent communication skills in English (Urdu is a plus).
- Strong knowledge of traditional reference sources as well as electronic databases.
- Familiarity with current trends in library technologies.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with colleagues.
