African Chef - Washington, USA
We are seeking a skilled and experienced African Chef to join our team in Washington. As an African Chef, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of traditional African dishes using fresh ingredients and authentic cooking techniques. You will work closely with our kitchen staff to ensure high-quality and consistent food is served to our customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook a variety of traditional African dishes, such as jollof rice, mafe, injera, and more
- Ensure all dishes are prepared according to recipes and standards set by the restaurant
- Maintain high levels of cleanliness and sanitation in the kitchen area
- Order and maintain inventory of ingredients and supplies needed for daily operations
- Train and supervise kitchen staff on proper food preparation techniques
- Monitor portion control to minimize waste and ensure consistency in taste
- Collaborate with management to create new menu items or make changes to existing ones based on customer feedback
Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years of experience as an African Chef in a restaurant setting
- Extensive knowledge of traditional African cuisine and cooking techniques
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English (additional languages are a plus)
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to train and motivate kitchen staff
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices
Salary: $1200/month
