A fitter is responsible for assembling, installing, and repairing various types of mechanical systems and equipment. They work with a variety of tools and machinery to ensure that all components are properly aligned and functioning correctly. In this role, you will primarily focus on fitting pipes, valves, and fixtures in buildings or other structures.

Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- At least 2 years of experience as a fitter in a construction or related field
- Strong knowledge of different fittings, valves, and pipe sizes
- Ability to read blueprints and schematics
- Good physical stamina and manual dexterity
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy

Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret blueprints to determine pipe locations, as well as the size of each fitting needed
- Measure and cut pipes to required lengths using various tools such as saws and pipe cutters
- Thread pipes using threading machines or hand tools
- Install fittings onto pipes by welding or soldering them together
- Align pipes according to specifications using levels, lasers, or plumb bobs
- Test installed systems for leaks using air or water pressure gauges
- Repair or replace damaged components such as valves or fittings
- Collaborate with other workers such as plumbers or electricians to complete projects
- Follow all safety protocols and regulations

Salary: $1400 per month
