Job Title: Indian Pastry Chef
A luxury hotel in Bungoma is seeking a talented and experienced Indian Pastry Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for creating delicious and visually stunning desserts inspired by traditional Indian flavors.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare a variety of desserts, pastries, and breads with a focus on Indian cuisine
- Develop new and innovative dessert recipes using traditional Indian ingredients
- Ensure high quality standards are met for taste, presentation, and consistency
- Train and supervise junior pastry chefs to maintain consistency in all dessert offerings
- Manage inventory and ordering of pastry supplies to ensure timely production
- Collaborate with other chefs to create well-rounded menus that showcase Indian flavors
- Maintain a clean and organized work station at all times
Requirements:
- Proven experience as an Indian Pastry Chef or similar role in a luxury hotel or fine dining restaurant
- Extensive knowledge of traditional Indian desserts, pastries, and breads
- Ability to create visually appealing desserts while maintaining taste and quality standards
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to train and supervise junior pastry chefs
- Excellent time management skills to meet production deadlines while maintaining high quality standards
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with strong attention to detail
Qualifications:
- Diploma or degree in Culinary Arts or related field preferred
- Minimum of 5 years experience as an Indian Pastry Chef
- Fluent in English
- Must be able to legally work in Bungoma
