Head Pastry Chef


We are seeking an experienced and creative Head Pastry Chef to join our team in Lisbon. As the Head Pastry Chef, you will be responsible for creating and overseeing our pastry menu, managing a team of pastry chefs, and ensuring high-quality and consistent desserts for our customers.

Main Responsibilities:
- Develop and create new pastry recipes and menu items that align with our restaurant's concept and standards
- Manage all aspects of the pastry kitchen including ordering ingredients, maintaining inventory, and managing costs
- Train and mentor pastry chefs on proper techniques, recipes, and plating presentations
- Oversee the production of all dessert items to ensure consistency in taste, appearance, and portion sizes
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment to meet food safety standards
- Collaborate with other chefs to create seasonal menus and special event menus
- Monitor food costs by controlling portion sizes, minimizing waste, and sourcing ingredients at competitive prices
- Stay up-to-date with current pastry trends, techniques, and ingredients

Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Head Pastry Chef or similar role
- Degree or certification in culinary arts or baking/pastry program
- Strong knowledge of baking techniques, flavor profiles, and plating presentations
- Creative mindset with the ability to develop unique desserts while also adhering to traditional recipes
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to train, motivate, and manage a team of pastry chefs
- Ability to work collaboratively with other chefs in a fast-paced environment

Salary:
We offer a competitive salary of 1000$ per month for this full-time position. Salary may be negotiable depending on experience.

Location:
This position is based in Lisbon. Candidates must have legal authorization to work in Portugal.
