Fitter Technician


As a Fitter Technician, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing mechanical equipment in various industrial settings. Your main duties will include reading and interpreting blueprints, conducting inspections and troubleshooting issues, and using hand and power tools to assemble and disassemble machinery. You will also be responsible for adhering to safety protocols and ensuring that all equipment is functioning properly.

To be successful in this role, you should have excellent mechanical skills and experience working with various types of machinery. A high school diploma or equivalent is required, along with a certification or apprenticeship in the field of fitting. You should also have strong problem-solving abilities and the ability to work independently.

Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret blueprints to determine assembly processes
- Conduct regular inspections of equipment to identify any issues or malfunctions
- Troubleshoot mechanical problems using appropriate tools
- Install, repair, and maintain mechanical systems including pumps, valves, motors, and bearings
- Follow safety protocols at all times to ensure a safe work environment
- Communicate with team members to coordinate tasks and ensure timely completion of projects
- Keep accurate records of maintenance activities performed on equipment
- Identify potential areas for improvement in equipment performance or maintenance processes

Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Certification or apprenticeship in fitting preferred
- Minimum of 2 years experience as a fitter technician or similar role
- Strong mechanical skills with knowledge of various types of machinery
- Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings
- Experience troubleshooting mechanical issues using hand tools and power tools
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
- Good communication skills for working with team members and providing updates on tasks completed
