Head Baker
We are in search of a skilled and experienced Head Baker to join our team in Greenland. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in baking and pastry making, with a minimum of 5 years experience in a professional bakery setting. The role requires a creative and detail-oriented individual who can lead and manage our bakery operations.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee all aspects of the bakery operations, including production, inventory management, and staff scheduling
- Create new recipes and develop existing ones to ensure high quality products
- Train and supervise bakery staff, ensuring they adhere to proper food safety and sanitation practices
- Monitor inventory levels and place orders for ingredients and supplies as needed
- Maintain equipment and ensure proper functioning at all times
- Collaborate with management to develop seasonal menus and promotions
- Ensure compliance with health codes and regulations at all times
Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years experience as a professional baker or pastry chef
- Strong knowledge of baking techniques, ingredients, and equipment
- Ability to work independently as well as lead a team effectively
- Excellent time management skills and ability to meet tight deadlines
- Detail-oriented with a strong focus on quality control
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Willingness to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays as needed
- Fluent in English (knowledge of Danish or Inuit languages is an asset)
