Head Pastry Chef
As a Head Pastry Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing the pastry department of our high-end restaurant in Horsens. You will be in charge of creating and executing dessert menus that meet the quality and presentation standards of our establishment. Your creativity and expertise in all aspects of pastry-making, including baking, decorating, and plating, will be crucial to the success of our dessert offerings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and update dessert menus according to seasonal availability and customer preferences
- Oversee the production of all pastries and desserts, ensuring consistency in taste, texture, and presentation
- Train and supervise a team of pastry chefs, bakers, and assistants
- Manage inventory and ordering of ingredients and supplies for the department
- Ensure adherence to food safety and sanitation standards in the pastry kitchen
- Collaborate with other chefs to create cohesive menus that complement main dishes
- Stay updated on industry trends and techniques to continuously improve the quality of our pastry offerings
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Pastry Chef or similar role in a fine dining establishment
- Culinary degree or equivalent certification preferred
- Knowledge of various pastry techniques such as baking, decorating, chocolate work, etc.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to train and motivate a team
- Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Attention to detail with an eye for presentation
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
Salary: 1400$ per month (negotiable based on experience)
Location: Horsens (preference for Danish or EU citizens)
