Contract Librarian in Roskilde

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Contract Librarian to join our team in Roskilde. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining the library's collection, providing reference services to patrons, and assisting with library programs and events. The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge of library systems and technologies, excellent communication skills, and a passion for promoting literacy and learning.

Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain the library's collection of books, periodicals, and other materials
- Assist patrons with locating materials and providing reference services
- Plan and implement library programs and events for all ages
- Collaborate with other librarians to develop new collections or services that meet the needs of the community
- Keep up-to-date with emerging trends in library technology and incorporate them into daily operations
- Assist with the organization of library materials, including cataloging, shelving, and weeding
- Train new employees or volunteers on library policies and procedures
- Create displays or exhibits to promote new resources or services to patrons

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Library Science or a related field (Master's preferred)
- Knowledge of library systems such as Dewey Decimal Classification or Library of Congress Classification
- Experience working in a library setting preferred but not required
- Strong customer service skills and ability to work with diverse populations
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to adapt to changing environments and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Fluent in English (knowledge of Danish is a plus)

Salary: 1500$ per month

Location: Roskilde, Denmark
