Job Title: Librarian - Cataloging Specialist (Odense, Denmark)



We are searching for a detail-oriented and organized individual to join our team as a Librarian - Cataloging Specialist in Odense, Denmark. As a Cataloging Specialist, you will be responsible for managing the organization and classification of library materials, ensuring easy access and retrieval for library patrons.

Key Responsibilities:

- Create accurate and comprehensive catalog records for new library materials using appropriate classification systems
- Continuously review and update existing catalog records to ensure accuracy and consistency
- Develop and implement policies and procedures for organizing library materials in accordance with industry standards
- Collaborate with other librarians to improve cataloging processes and workflows
- Train and supervise staff members on cataloging procedures
- Maintain knowledge of emerging technologies related to cataloging and make recommendations for implementation
- Assist patrons with finding materials using the library's online catalog system
- Provide reference services as needed

Requirements:

- Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field preferred
- At least 2 years of experience working in a library setting, with a focus on cataloging
- Strong knowledge of library classification systems such as Dewey Decimal or Library of Congress Classification
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Familiarity with current trends in electronic resources management and metadata standards
- Proficiency in computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite, integrated library systems, and online databases
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment
- Fluency in English (knowledge of Danish is a plus)
