Instrument Technician
The Instrument Technician will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and calibrating a variety of instruments and equipment used in manufacturing and production processes. They will work closely with engineers and production staff to ensure that all instruments are functioning properly and accurately.
Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of instruments such as pressure gauges, thermometers, flow meters, level indicators, and control valves.
- Calibrate instruments to ensure accuracy and precision.
- Respond to emergency instrument breakdowns and repair or replace components as needed.
- Install new instruments or modify existing ones to improve performance.
- Keep detailed records of all maintenance and repairs performed.
- Work with engineering teams to develop maintenance schedules for critical equipment.
- Train production staff on proper use and maintenance of instruments.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years experience as an instrument technician in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of instrumentation principles and practices.
- Familiarity with electrical testing equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, and power supplies.
- Ability to read technical drawings and schematics.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills.
- Good communication skills.
- Physically able to climb ladders, work at heights, lift heavy objects, and work in confined spaces.
