Job Title: Senior Accountant



We are a reputable financial services company located in Funchal, seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Accountant to join our team. As a Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for overseeing the financial operations of our company and ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.

Responsibilities:
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
- Maintain accurate and organized financial records for the company
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes
- Oversee payroll processing and tax filings
- Monitor cash flow and prepare cash flow projections
- Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures
- Assist with budget preparation and variance analysis
- Provide guidance to junior accounting staff and review their work for accuracy
- Stay updated on changes in accounting regulations and implement necessary changes in processes as needed
- Collaborate with other departments to provide financial insights for decision making

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- At least 5 years of experience as an Accountant
- Strong knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)
- Proficient in using accounting software
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Strong analytical skills
- Fluent in English (Portuguese is a plus)
