Executive Chef

We are searching for an experienced and skilled Executive Chef to lead our kitchen team in Nairobi, Kenya. As our ideal candidate, you will have a passion for creating delicious and visually appealing dishes, as well as strong leadership skills to manage and inspire our team. You will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the kitchen, including menu planning, food preparation, and ensuring high standards of quality and hygiene are maintained. The Executive Chef will also be responsible for managing inventory, ordering supplies, and controlling costs to meet budget goals. This position requires excellent communication skills and the ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Accommodation can be provided for the right candidate. This is a temporary position with potential for long-term employment.

Requirements:
- Previous experience as an Executive Chef or similar role
- Ability to create innovative menu items while also managing cost control
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and train kitchen staff
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Indian nationality preferred but not required
- Fluency in English is required

Responsibilities:
- Develop menus that reflect the restaurant's culinary direction and appeal to our customers' tastes
- Oversee food preparation and ensure consistency in quality and presentation
- Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as needed
- Manage kitchen staff, including training, scheduling, and performance evaluations
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations at all times
- Create cost-effective strategies to meet budget goals without compromising quality
- Collaborate with restaurant management on special events or promotions that require culinary expertise

Salary:
Starting salary of 1800$ per month depending on experience.
