Librarian

We are seeking a knowledgeable and organized Librarian to join our team at the Atlanta Public Library. The ideal candidate will have a passion for literature and information, as well as excellent customer service skills. As a Librarian, you will be responsible for managing the library's collection, assisting patrons with research and reference inquiries, and organizing library events and programs. This position requires strong communication and computer skills, as well as the ability to work independently and in a team setting.

Responsibilities:
- Manage library collection, including cataloging, shelving, and weeding materials
- Assist patrons with research and reference inquiries
- Plan and organize library events and programs
- Provide exceptional customer service to all library patrons
- Maintain knowledge of current trends in literature and information resources
- Collaborate with other librarians to develop new services and programs
- Stay up-to-date on library policies, procedures, and technology

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field
- Previous experience working in a library setting preferred
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Proficiency in using computers for research purposes
- Ability to work independently and in a team setting
- Passion for literature and promoting literacy within the community
