Head Chef - African and Malayalee Cuisine (English Speaking)
We are a leading restaurant in Mauren, seeking an experienced and talented Head Chef to lead our team in creating delicious African and Malayalee dishes. As the Head Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing the kitchen operations, developing menu items, and ensuring the quality and consistency of all dishes.
Responsibilities:
- Create African and Malayalee inspired menu items that are both traditional and innovative
- Train and manage kitchen staff to ensure high standards of food preparation and presentation
- Oversee inventory management, ordering supplies, and controlling food costs
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment
- Monitor food quality to ensure it meets our high standards
- Collaborate with other departments to develop special event menus
- Stay updated with industry trends and new ingredients to continuously improve our menu
Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years experience as a Chef, preferably with experience in African or Malayalee cuisine
- Strong knowledge of African and Malayalee cooking techniques, ingredients, and flavors
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to train, motivate, and manage a team
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills with proficiency in English
- Must be creative, passionate about food, and willing to take risks
Salary:
We offer a competitive salary of 1400$ per month for this full-time position.
